About Us

Welcome to Abilene Eats!

My name is Becky and I’m the woman behind Abilene Eats.

Abilene Eats started with an Instagram account and quickly became a website so that I could share photos and reviews with you more easily.

I’m the writer, photographer, researcher, crowd-sourcer, and restaurant-picker while my husband and son love being the taste-testers.

My husband, Adam, and I moved to Abilene with our 1-year-old son, Noah, in May 2021 and I was on a mission – to try every place in town to find the most delicious, most unique food Abilene has to offer.

We’d just moved away from a town in Northern Colorado that was packed full of chain restaurants but had very few local restaurants with unique specialty items.

I was thrilled when I discovered Abilene is chock-full of them!

I’ve lived a lot of places but I’ve never experienced a community that feels as connected as it is here. I love this place and its people, which makes it easy to want to support our local restaurants and businesses.

We’ll Try It All So You Don’t Have To!

From barbecue to Tex-Mex and everything in between, this town has something delicious that will delight your tastebuds.

And we want to try it all so that you know what’s the best of the best.

Every restaurant we try, I ask our server one question,

If this were the only time I were to come here, what would I *have* to have?

Whether you are just driving through, planning to visit Abilene, or you live here, we don’t want you wasting your money or calories on food that doesn’t taste good.

We are trying every restaurant, ice cream parlor, coffee shop, and farmer’s market in town to find all of the hidden gems in town.

We’ll try anything and everything except for bananas. I don’t do bananas.

I’m just a woman who really loves food and wants to showcase the best food Abilene has to offer.
